  • PHI Wide Receiver #11
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Brown lands on the Eagles’ injury report as a non-participant due to a hamstring injury to open the week. The 28-year-old has had an up-and-down role to start the season in the low-volume Philly offense, but remains the team’s top wideout. This could be the same hamstring issue Brown dealt with before the season though the severity is unclear. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for the rest of the week; if Brown can squeeze in a limited practice, his chances to play Week 8 against the Giants will increase.
  • MIN Running Back #33
The Vikings activated Jones from injured reserve on Tuesday, allowing him to practice in a limited capacity twice in the lead up to the team’s Thursday Night Football game against the Chargers this week. One would assume that the team would prefer to let Jones ramp up in practice with a few full practice sessions before keeping him active on game day, but anything is possible. Check back on Thursday to find out if the Vikings’ starter will make his return. He would be a volatile RB2 candidate if active. Fellow Minnesota running back Zavier Scott is also questionable, though Scott won’t have much fantasy value in any scenario.
  • TB Wide Receiver #2
There were no indications that Egbuka aggravated his hamstring issue in Week 7, so we will assume this is a maintenance day for now. Egbuka left Week 6 with the hamstring issue and was expected to miss at least one game because of it, if not multiple. Instead, the rookie got in one light practice session over the weekend and suited up for Monday’s game. He was targeted 12 times but only caught four of them for 58 yards. With Mike Evans done for roughly two months and Chris Godwin already ruled out, Egbuka is pushing for a WR1 ranking heading into Week 8.
  • LAC Tackle #76
This is great news. Chargers RT Trey Pipkins III (knee) and backup LT Austin Deculus (ankle) are listed as questionable as well. All three offensive tackles practiced in a limited capacity each day this week. The Chargers’ offensive line is tasked with fending off the Vikings’ blitz-heavy defensive scheme on Thursday night. Getting one or both of the team’s starting offensive tackles back would go a long way toward keeping QB Justin Herbert upright.
  • ATL Quarterback #9
Reports on the injury Penix suffered during his team’s Week 7 Sunday Night Football game against the 49ers have varied, indicating Penix suffered a foot and/or ankle injury that has been referred to as a bone bruise. The knee listing does make sense, though. Late in the game, 49ers linebacker Tatum Bethune hit the outside of Penix’s right knee, planting him in place, before another pass rusher eventually brought Penix down, meeting the ground with his left knee. The Falcons quarterback remained down briefly after the play, and could be seen wincing in pain as he flexed and extended his left knee repeatedly. He sported a slight limp thereafter.
  • CHI Running Back #4
Swift was played through this issue and ran for 124 yards and a score on 19 attempts. The team managed his reps in practice but didn’t have any issues with him hitting 20 touches on Sunday. It’s possible the groin injury is getting worse, or this could just be a maintenance day. Thursday’s practice will be more revealing. Fantasy managers will need to make contingency plans if Swift remains out tomorrow. With Roschon Johnson also missing practice because of a back issue, Kyle Monangai could be in line for a massive workload this week. Mongangai should be rostered in all fantasy formats.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
Collins suffered the concussion on Monday night versus Seattle. He went down in the fourth quarter and did not return. A significantly short week will make it even harder for him to clear the league’s concussion protocol by Sunday. With Christian Kirk also sidelined, Xavier Hutchinson appears to be the team’s top wideout heading into Week 8. Rookie Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins should both see more work as well.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Per ESPN’s Dan Graziano, there is still a chance that Jackson misses Week 8, but things are at least trending in the right direction as of the first practice of the week. We will assume it’s a limited session until the Ravens drop their full injury report. Jackson has been out since Week 4 with the hamstring issue and is coming off a bye week, giving him plenty of rest ahead of a must-win game versus Chicago. Bears coach Ben Johnson has already said he is preparing as if Jackson is playing. Assuming things go to plan and Jackson is available by Sunday, he will, of course, jump right to the top of the fantasy ranks.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #5
Wilson could return for a limited session later today, but all signs point to a DNP for the young wideout. With a Week 9 bye on the horizon, the winless Jets shouldn’t be in a hurry to rush Wilson back to the lineup. Fantasy managers should move forward under the assumption Wilson is out for Week 8. Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson, and Mason Taylor each caught three passes last week. Reynolds gets a slight edge over Johnson in the fantasy ranks with Wilson out, but Taylor’s tight end eligibility makes him the best start of the trio.
  • TB Wide Receiver #13
That timeline still keeps Evans off the field for the bulk of the regular season, but it’s more optimistic than the initial reporting. Evans could even be back for the fantasy playoffs and will almost certainly be ready by the time the Bucs are in the NFL’s playoffs. With Chris Godwin out for Week 8 and Evans sidelined for roughly two months, rookie sensation Emeka Egbuka should stay hot and dominate the Bucs’ targets for the foreseeable future. Despite a quiet Week 7, Egbuka is near the top of the WR2 ranks going forward.
